The retrofit of our building stock will be a major factor in lowering carbon emissions across the UK and Ireland; and is high on the UK government agenda to meet net zero targets by 2050. However, for the c.14% of NI’s housing stock built before 1919, there are a number of additional considerations to be made to ensure that measures are appropriate, fit for purpose and support occupant health. This 1-day in-person course will give a deeper understanding of considerations and practical measures that can be introduced in traditional and historic buildings to improve energy efficiency and occupant comfort.

Who should attend?

This 1-day course is primarily aimed at construction, architecture and heritage professionals who would like to gain a deeper understanding of introducing energy efficiency retrofit measures in older buildings to enable them to be better informed when specifying appropriate materials and systems in heritage projects. There will be opportunities to ask questions at the end of the session.
